NESTNET

NESTNET is a shape for developing, mentoring and discussion. Over a period of four weeks, Shelley will work closely with a small group of choreographers on ideas and projects they are developing, and simultaneously immerse them in a process of her own.

NESTNET
will be a situation of intense focus in which participating dance artists will have the opportunity to contextualise their work amongst colleagues through exchange and conversation.

Towards the end of the process there will be public access to an open rehearsal and discussion around the artists' experience of NESTNET and the progress of individual ideas. (Date and Time to be announced)

Participating Artists: Tim Darbyshire, Natalie Abbott, Kelly Jirsa, Brooke Stamp and Lily Paskas.

Over the past 25 years, Shelley Lasica has been making and performing dance work in Australia and abroad. Her work, which is often located in non-theatre spaces, includes solo and ensemble work, and is firmly based in a discourse that seeks to engage dance with other visual and temporal art forms.

In 2011 Shelley's work DUELLE (with Deanne Butterworth) will be presented at CIA Studio, Perth in February and a new project, SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS, will be presented in November 2011.

Shelley has shown work in a range of non-performance spaces of different dimensions and usages throughout Australia, and in cities including London, Manchester, Paris, Vienna and New York. In Australia her work is represented by Anna Schwartz Gallery.
