PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT IN INCLUSIVE PRACTICE
How to make your classes inclusive for deaf and hard of hearing people

Deaf Arts Network, Arts Access Victoria and Dancehouse are pleased to be hosting a two-day FREE Professional Development event focused on facilitating and promoting inclusive practice. Teachers, professional artists, and anyone working within dance and/or drama are invited to attend to explore inclusive approaches to dance and drama workshop facilitation.
The training will focus on giving you the skills and information to deliver dance and drama workshops and classes that are inclusive of people who are deaf or hard of hearing. At the end of the workshops you will leave feeling more confident to be inclusive in your teaching and practice. The teacher training workshops will focus on learning to create an accessible learning environment through exploration and discussion of practical learning methods, as well as Deaf Awareness Training.
The training will be delivered by leading professional deaf dance and theatre artists:
Jo Dunbar – dancer and choreographer
Medina Sumovic – Artistic Director of The Australian Theatre of the Deaf
Anna Seymour – independent contemporary dancer
Date: Saturday May 31st - Sunday June 1st
Time: 10am – 2pm
