Intensive One Day Aerial Dance Workshop

Melbourne Aerial Dance Company

The workshop is structured to slowly build skill levels over the course of the day and by the end of the workshop participants will, hopefully, have achieved an understanding of, and be able to execute, even the most difficult lifts- safely.

The first workshop will start with a basic warm up, followed by a talk regarding house keeping issues: like, general safety, responsibility to your partner and the necessity of a spotter. Next is a discussion on understanding the errors, recoveries and avoidance of falls as well as covering the experience and background of the group. This first workshop will finish with the instruction of 2 basic tricks at ground level suited to the group's capacity.

The second workshop is based purely on balancing on your partner and is an open level but can be structured around beginners as well.

After a break the third workshop will teach shoulder level type aerials and tricks. This class is for intermediate level only; and participants will only be allowed to join the class if they have completed both workshops previously or can demonstrate an appropriate skill level. No walk-ins allowed.

The day will then finish off with the fourth workshop, which is for advanced aerialists and will include high aerials and fast tricks. Once again no walk ins are allowed and all participants are to have completed all previous workshops on the day.
