Venue
Dancehouse is an exclusively self-presenting venue. All our programs are curated with the exception of YourWay! - Dancehouse's Open Season - which allows access to our two theatres twice per year (see below).
It is however possible to organise an invitation-only informal showing in studio or performance conditions at all times.
All our three spaces are available for rehearsal/class/workshop/showing hire: Sylvia Staehli Theatre, Upstairs Studio and Gallery.

Venue Information
Bookings are subject to availability and Dancehouse's Artistic Program.
All three spaces have floors that are maintained for dance and may not be suitable for all types of usage, so please check when booking for either rehearsal or performance.
Dancehouse reserves the right to decline hire or to request changes to hire in order to accommodate the Dancehouse Artistic Program.
Dancehouse is committed to providing low cost and high quality rehearsal and creative space for individual artists and small groups. Dancehouse's three dance spaces are all well appointed, comfortable, spacious and clean. They have sprung timber floors, are heated in winter and cooled in summer and have access to toilets, bathrooms and kitchen. We do not have mirrors or bars.
The Downstairs space has ramp access and amenities suitable for hirers and visitors with special needs.
Hire for rehearsal and creative development

Hire for teaching classes or instructing workshops
Dancehouse encourages and supports a wide variety of casual and one off classes and workshops. Preference will be given to dance or movement related work but they are not exclusive.
Classes/Workshops are self-entreprenuered activities run by independent practitioners who are skilled in their field. Hire for these purposes is subject to application and classes and workshops are independent from the Dancehouse program.

Hire for Performance or Public Event
The Sylvia Staehli Theatre and the Upstairs Studio can no longer be used for performances or event needs outside of Dancehouse's curated programs or the Your Way program. Should you wish to present your project at Dancehouse, we are very happy to meet with you and discuss possibilities of hosting it as part of our many programs. Please feel free to email Angela Conquet, Artistic Director - angela@dancehhouse.com.au
All our spaces are available for invitation-only informal or public showing. The venue hire for this can include exclusive use of the space for the period of the hire, use of lighting and sound equipment, limited technical assistance with bump in. All technical needs must be approved by Dancehouse.
Dancehouse is open for hire for corporate or private events. Please contact us for more information.
Your Way program
This program is a way of offering support to productions outside our curated seasons. We aim to contribute to the advancement of dance practice and performance by giving artists access to professional presenting opportunities and tailoring them for a specific environment.
Twice per year (April/May or September/October during the Fringe Festival), Dancehouse will host a limited number of productions during an open season. The artists will benefit from the same resources and attention from staff as any Dancehouse project under a Hire Partnership Agreement.
