Dancehouse is on Wurundjeri Country. We offer our respects to the Wurundjeri woi-wurrung people — and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people — who continue to dance on Country, and have done, for thousands of generations. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

A Dance For Every Season — Fine Lines and Dance for Parkinson’s Community

A Dance For Every Season is a free workshop presented by members of the Dance for Parkinson’s community and Fine Lines Dance, a collective of mature dancers based at Dancehouse.

Workshop goals

  • raise awareness of the benefits of dance for people living with Parkinson’s disease and other conditions
  • show how dance can be accessible for all bodies and all ages
  • present an open seated dance class from the Dance for PD and Fine Lines playbook

What to expect
Led by dance leaders, Paris Wages, Shannon Parsons, Gabi Stanger and Katrina Rank, this workshop invites guests to:

  • observe or try an open class following our normal seated-to-standing class structure (no dance partners necessary)
  • explore the joys and benefits of dance, music and the creative spirit
  • participate an open discussion facilitated by Katrina & Paris afterwards
  • be on your way home by 6pm

This workshop is proudly supported by City of Yarra.

Dr Katrina Rank is a leading Australian educator and dance artist, contributing to national and international movement education outcomes.
