On The Table #2 EOI
Applications close at 11.59pm July 20, 2023.
On The Table is a weekly gathering for artistic exchange and collaborative working where artists come together to build a culture of sharing practice.
Expanding beyond traditional in-process showing formats, artists are invited to not only share their work, but to bring others inside of their process. To ‘put something on the table’ for everyone attending to explore together.
Applications close at 11.59pm on July 20, 2023.
On The Table will on Monday evenings in the Sylvia Staehli Theatre or Skylab 6.30 – 8pm, with each session hosted by a different artist/collective.
Who Can Apply:
We are excited to hear from dancers of all backgrounds as well as anyone working within or adjacent to the realms of dance, movement, choreography and bodily practice can apply.
Projects and ideas at any stage of development are welcomed.
Sessions can take a broad range of formats e.g.
– showing of material
– something we haven’t thought of yet
– put your practice on the table
– test driving participatory stuff
If you’d like any suggestions for how you could shape your session, please get in contact.
We endeavour to program as many relevant proposals as possible and are available to support you in developing a proposal.
We are not going to judge the quality of your writing. Simple dot points and short sentences will suffice.
If you’d prefer to apply through an alternative format (ie audio recording, video or phone call), please reach out.
We are interested in programming a wide range of sessions in terms of artistic discipline and session format. In particular, we are invested in programming sessions that encourage participants to co-question with the artist and what they are putting ‘on the table’. We ask that sessions accomodate for participants with various backgrounds and levels of experience with dance/movement/art.
We run sessions across two studio spaces depending upon dates and artist needs. These are the Skylab and Sylvia Staehli Theatre, information on the assets and accessibility of these spaces can be found here >>>
All access requirements are warmly welcomed. Please get in contact and we will endeavour to meet your needs. The Sylvia Staehli Theatre is wheelchair accessible and is located near to wheelchair-accessible and all gender bathrooms.
Unfortunately there is no budget for this program and hosting artists will not receive a fee. We encourage you to propose sessions that will be of benefit for you as an individual or collective.
