Dancehouse is on Wurundjeri Country. We offer our respects to the Wurundjeri woi-wurrung people — and to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people — who continue to dance on Country, and have done, for thousands of generations. Always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

2026 Dancehouse RISING Program

Dancehouse is at the heart of Melbourne’s inaugural Australian Dance Biennale, which runs as part of the RISING festival from 27 May to 8 June 2026. The festival features more than 100 events and 376 artists across venues throughout the city, making dance the centrepiece of this landmark event. Dancehouse will host two significant performances exploring the body as a site of resistance and transformation. They are Exposure by Branch Nebula and Frankie by Martin Hansen.
