To mark International Dance Day, co-authors Carl Sciberras, Joshua Lowe, and Frankie Snowdon are pleased to share the Independent Dance Sector Report, a national scan of the independent dance sector. The report includes a clear definition of the sector, key issues affecting the sector, and recommendations to address these. It was informed by a national survey, consultation with independent artists, organisations, and Creative Australia, and the authors’ experience as dance artists and organisation leaders.

The report will be used to prompt conversations between the different levels of sector ecology, identify stakeholders that can lead or contribute to implementing the recommendations, and clarify where additional support is needed.
