On The Verge #7
Facilitated by Catherine Magill and Peter Trotman
Sunday 22 October, 9am—5pm
Sylvia Staehli Theatre and Upstairs Studio
A day of practice for those with some experience of improvisational, movement-based performance. This lightly facilitated day-long event will offer a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment for practicing improvised performance. The day’s sessions will be structured in a simple way to allow time for everyone to perform, reflect, and receive positive feedback. Participants will have the opportunity to create multiple, short pieces that explore across movement, dance, sound and spoken word.
The day will start with a warm-up (either alone or facilitated). Then, breaking into smaller groups, the day will be divided into sessions for peer practice. The number of participants will determine how many practice slots will be available and in how many spaces. Maximum 20 participants.
