This introduction to Production Management will cover all your technical/production questions – from schedules to risk management and how to develop and write the technical rider for your work. We will also discuss the process for when/how to engage other artists (Lighting Designers, Sound Designers, Set/Costume Designers) and how to ensure that your new work is presented in a stress-free, seamless way. In budget, on time and to the highest standard.
Admin Basics for Artists — Insite Arts
Saturday 23 July, 1—3pm
The administrative side of working as an artist can be daunting and confusing. In this 2 hour workshop, learn the basic (but ever changing) skills surrounding invoicing, insurances and superannuation, and ask the questions you’ve never asked but wanted the answers to. How to get an ABN? Should you register for GST? What type of insurance do you need? All this and more.
Producing Fundamentals for Artists — Insite Arts
Sunday 24 July, 1—3pm
From working with dedicated producers to doing it yourself, this workshop will explore what a producer is, what they do and the unique relationship between artist and producer. Asking the question “when do you need a producer”, the workshop also aims to guide you through the basic foundations of self-producing as an artist. Join Insite Arts directors Jason Cross and Victoria Raywood as they share their combined 50 years’ experience in producing for live performance and dance in this 2 hour workshop for Next Stages.
