Water is available in the bathrooms in the common area.

All gender and accessible bathrooms are available through the green foyer door in the West Studio. Go out the foyer door in to the common area of the building, turn right and then right again in the first hallway. All of the bathrooms are located on the right hand side. All bathroom doors are unlocked and accessible without keys.

There are also showers and bike parking inside the building in the common area.

To access the bathrooms and bike parking from the East Studio, take the fob attached to the tap shoe that is kept in the black cabinet in the East Studio. Exit out of the studio to Albion St and walk around past the West Studio to the first gate entry point on the Upfield Shared Path using the fob to gain access to the common area.

To enter West Studio from the common area, use the foyer door code.

The following information is essential to hiring and using Dancehouse.

General Information

  • Please complete the Venue Use Agreement
  • If you have the door code YOU are the Lead Hirer for your space.
  • Door Code: Your door code is listed in the booking title of your Skedda booking and/or sent to your email. Dancehouse will only provide you with the door code after you have signed your Venue Use Agreement.
  • Studio Doors: All studio doors should remain closed at all times and only be opened by the Lead Hirer using the door code or letting in your students, team or collaborators. Do not let anyone else in.
  • First Aid: A first aid kit is located on the black shelving unit in each studio. Ice packs are in the first aid kits.
  • Please leave the space clean and tidy. There are no storage facilities at Dancehouse Studios Brunswick and many people use the spaces — please do not leave anything behind.
  • In case of an incident, faulty equipment or amenities, please complete an Incident Report

When you leave Dancehouse Studios Brunswick please ensure that you have turned off the lights, closed any windows, and swept the space you have been in. Make sure the door is closed firmly behind you.

 

East Studio

  • The East Studio can be accessed by the entrance to Dancehouse on Albion Street. If you require wheelchair access to East Studio this will need to be arranged prior with Dancehouse staff.
    • Light switches are located next to the green internal door that connects to West Studio. Turn off after use.
  • The PA System is 1 speaker with a mini-jack aux cable:
    • Plug your device in to the aux cable — we also provide a lightning and USB-C adaptor
    • Turn on the speaker at the wall (may need to be plugged in to an outlet)
    • There is no bluetooth available

When it’s time to leave please remove any items from the space, throw away all rubbish, turn off the lights and sweep the floor. Please leave the green internal door that connects to West Studio closed.

 

 

West Studio

  • The West Studio can be accessed by the entrance to Dancehouse on the corner of Albion Street and the Upfield Bike Path. If you require wheelchair access to West Studio this will need to be arranged prior with Dancehouse staff.
    • Light switches are located next to the green door that connects the studio to the shared area inside the building. Turn off after use.
  • The PA System is 1 speaker with a mini-jack aux cable:
    • Plug your device in to the aux cable — we also provide a lightning and USB-C adaptor
    • Turn on the speaker at the wall (may need to be plugged in to an outlet)
    • There is no bluetooth available

Everyone at Dancehouse is responsible for complying with Dancehouse’s Policies and Procedures to ensure a safe workplace and venue for: artists, employees, users, hirers, patrons and City of Yarra staff.

For yours and everyone’s safety, Dancehouse reserves the right to remove you from the venue immediately and cancel your bookings if you are not complying with our  policies and procedures.
