Dancehouse stands on what always was and always will be Aboriginal land. We pay our respects to the traditional owners of this land, the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin Nation, to their Elders past and present, and acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded.

Δ (Change from Aotearoa) is talanoa/exchange between street dance leaders from across Te Moana nui a Kiwa (the Great Sea of Kiwa / the Pacific Ocean), brought together by curators Jonathan Homsey and Efren Pamilacan.

Anchored in a web of physical connections, from Street and Ballroom to lived experience, three of Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland)’s leading movement artists share their practices via Pasifika modes of storytelling and talanoa.

Throughout March, Jahra Wasasala, Ooshcon, and Jaycee Iman will guide audiences, artists, and communities across multiple venues and countries through symposia, masterclasses and performance, untangling the relationship between the contemporary dance canon and Street and Queer forms.

Δ (Change from Aotearoa) is about the currents and tides within dance on Oceaniac lands. It is a break from Western narratives of choreography, empowering a diverse ecology of aesthetics, taste-making, and world-building.
