This series foregrounds improvised dance styles. Over two days of workshops in the Upstairs Studio, we bring you everything from Contact Improvisation to Vogue Femme, Breakdancing and Locking to freestyle and improvisation, street to contemporary dance.

Explore how to connect your improvisation with floorwork, partnerwork and gesture. Collide your practice with other dance cultures and deepen your knowledge of improvised dance forms.

These workshops are perfect for the experienced mover who wants to try another form. Skill up on your craft and hone in on your improvisation/freestyle practice.

These workshops are only $15 a class for Dancehouse Members when you buy a day pack!

Your safety is our priority

We take your safety seriously and have put in place the following COVID safety measures to ensure you are able to feel free and have fun whilst dancing. 

  • The capacity of each session is to ensure social distancing and to comply with the government directions (please note: we will continue to adhere to government restrictions, and will notify you directly if this affects this program);
  • You are encouraged to bring your own water bottle 
  • Markers and any other equipment will be thoroughly cleaned with disinfectant between each session.
